The Red

Red lips, its more than just pulling out the latest hue and slicking it on. Its actually quite the procedure if you want that stunning, classic look. Red lips are timeless and when well done they are as much of classic as the little black dress!

You have to start by applying a conditioner to your lips , since you don't want your red lips to be slick or slippery, after a minute wipe it off , a  natural based lip balm is perfect something like lucas' pawpaw balm. Make sure no cracks are visible, leaving flakage and cracks is a classic mistake women make when doing the whole 'red lip thing'. To overcome the flaking and cracking exfoliate them using a warm damp wash cloth, this should be done especially in the winter.

To avoid the spillage of color onto your skin , line your lips with a red lip liner , extra care lining your cupids . with the same lip liner fill your lips in (don't be afraid) Its better to use lip brush to fill in your lipstick for a better control, start at the bottom lip and work your way up . Avoid mistakes by applying small strokes , its very hard to remove red lipsticks.

smear your lip gloss - clear, or red only at the center of your  bottom and upper lip. this will make your lips look larger and more full . Neon shades of red with a matte finish is most in at the moment, however most reds are timeless. mwa!

My new fix

Coffee.... Even reading the word can make us feel like its actually waking us up.
However i find that the image and taste of coffee can play with our minds by making us think it will actually wake us up just because its what we are used to. Do you really think it would make a difference if you drank decaf one morning without knowing? would you actually notice the change?

Coffee -  It stains your teeth and alters the smell of your breath.
            - its addictive.
            - bad for your vocal chords.
            - robs you of calcium.
            - higher chance of early osteoporosis.
            - a main cause of premature aging.
enough about the coffee, now straight to the good stuff. I have recently discovered peppermint tea. I now drink it daily, the benefits are countless and the effect is sensational.

As well having superior flavor, peppermint tea possesses the following health benefits:

  • Peppermint tea treats irritable bowel syndrome
  • Peppermint tea eases nausea and vomiting
  • Peppermint tea controls flatulence and diverticular disorder
  • Peppermint tea improves digestion and reduce heartburn
  • Peppermint tea dissolves gallstones
  • Peppermint tea reduces the severity of herpes outbreaks
  • Peppermint tea fights bad breath
  • Peppermint tea controls muscle aches and chronic pain
  • Peppermint tea clears congestion and cough related to colds and allergies
  • Peppermint tea controls mild asthma
  • Peppermint tea fights stress

If you just want to cut down you have to slowly ween yourself off of it. Like if you typically drink 5 cups a day cut one out the first few days or week...then cut one more out.. until you are down to where you want to be. You'll not only  feel but see a positive difference in yourself.

Go green.

Bring on the Brunette?
new season means new hair color.
for those of you who are blonde, and have been for a little to long , go all out this season and turn to the dark side,  by that i mean bring on the brunette!
Personally i had been considering it for way too long. However i do miss being "the blonde" and am not sure if the dark side is for me.. hear are
some photographs , let me know what you think.
I haven't really looked back since and i would recommend the change to most, its easy, convenient, affordable, and hot!
